Inverters

Grid Connect Inverters

The inverter is a device that converts the direct current (DC) electricity produced from the photovoltaic panels to alternating current (AC) electricity that is used in the household and on the electricity grid.
One side of the inverter is connected to the output of the photovoltaic panels while the other side of the inverter is connected to the main line coming into the household from the electricity grid. The inverter is usually mounted close to the electricity distribution board of the household.

Remote Area/Standalone

The remote area power system inverter is different to a grid connect inverter in that it does not connect to an electricity grid. One side is connected to the panels and the other side is connected to the distribution board where the loads of the house are also connected

Regulators

A regulator is a device that controls the charging of the batteries by the photovoltaic system. It ensures that the battery is not under or over charged. The regulator can also control the load to ensure that the battery is not over discharged leading to lower battery life.

Solar Technology stocks a wide array of regulator with products from Morningstar, Plasmatronics and Steca. Basic models are available right up to models offering full monitoring capabilities. A commercial range of regulators is available upon email request
.
