Grid connect photovoltaic systems consist of photovoltaic panels installed on the North facing roof by the use of appropriate frames, for a flat or pitched roof, and an inverter. To ensure optimum performance they are installed in an unshaded position. The power produced by the  solar panels is supplied to the inverter that converts the DC electricity from the solar panels to AC electricity.
